A taste of what to come......

So I guess I should have started a blog a long time ago. There are so many things that have happened here at the resort that have either proved human kind to be extremely smart, or that have made you wish that a rock would fall out of the sky and crush everyone. Sometimes it's my co-workers but most of the time (almost all the time) it's the guests. I don't know what about taking a vacation that turns people into demanding, arrogant, clueless idiots. Don't get me wrong, not everyone who visits here is that way, only about 99%.
For example: The guests who don't understand why the employees can't control the weather. The guests who think that where the placement of the engine determines whether or not their vehicle is front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive (more about this one later). The people who assume that just because I work in the main lodge means that I am babysitting their children (sorry, I'm not. So please don't leave them unattended because there is nothing I would like more than to send them to housekeeping to make them work). Oh, and I almost forgot the people who like to decide that they work there so they have every right to wander around employee only areas.
Then there are the guests that make you feel like the greatest person in the world. The ones where you greet them with a smile, ask how they are, and if you can do anything for them, and they practically hug you (I have had people actually hug me upon first meeting them. Thank goodness that kind of thing doesn't freak me out.).  I wish that we had more guests like that. The people who appreciate the little things and who realize just how hard we all work, and the ones who don't want to make our lives a living hell because at one time or another they themselves have been in the exact same place. Those are the people who give me hope that maybe, someday, more people will be like them and that someday I won't get yelled at for the sunny and warm weather God has decided to bless us with. I guess I should apologize for not being able to control the weather, but even if I could they would complain about how there is too much snow, and why are the roads closed after we received over 5 ft of snow?
My job is to make people happy, but sometimes, no matter how customer service orientated I am, I can never make them happy. So...
Hello, Welcome to the mountains! How can I help you?
